FMRC is committed to exploring the unknown possibilities of mushrooms, using one of the world's largest mushroom resources regarding the number of species as a basis for research.
Five research divisions, ranging from basic to applied, and one administrative division, are organically integrated to develop systematic and comprehensive research and education.
We are actively engaged in collecting, preserving, and distributing mushroom resources as one of the core facilities (mushrooms) of the National BioResource Project (NBRP).
Basic Research Divisions
Collection and phylogenetic analyses of rare and valuable mushroom strains as genetic resources
Division of Mushroom Biodiversity

Stable preservation and providing higher quality on mushroom strains, management of culture collection
Division of Bioresource Preservation and Evaluation

Development of mushroom cultivation techniques, and breeding of mushroom variety based on genome information.
Division of Mushroom Production Science

Applied Research Divisions
Identification of biological active compounds and evaluation of novel functional ingredients derived from mushrooms
Division of Functional Fungal Physiology and Pharmacology

Identification of chemical structures and development of new analytical techniques of bioactive substances from mushrooms
Division of Applied Fungal Chemistry
